Jamie Lynn Spears has begun to open up more about her relationship with Britney Spears on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
In the latest episode of the ITV series, Fred Sirieix takes it upon himself to grill Jamie, 32, about what it is like to grow up with such a famous sibling.
There was one particular Spears moment that Fred wanted the 411 on – the kiss between Britney, 41, and Madonna, 65, during a performance at MTV’s VMAs in 2003.
With nothing but rice and beans in his stomach, and a dream of learning more about an iconic pop culture moment Fred, 51, got to work.
‘I’ve never asked you about your sister, but I was just thinking about, do you remember when she kissed Madonna, or Madonna kissed her – how did it come about?’ he enquired.
‘They just did it. I was at home watching like, “Oh OK, this will be fun tomorrow at school, can’t wait”,’ she joked.

Like a lot of younger siblings Jamie idolised her big sister: ‘Anything my sister did I always thought was the best.’
She continued: ‘When it came to my sister, even if I felt anything, if anyone said anything I was ready to go. I was like, “Don’t talk about my sister, she’s the best.” And so literally I just thought – and by the way, in today’s world it would mean nothing – but it was this iconic moment that they went with and it happened and it’s what they did.’
She added that their mum Lynne thought it was ‘artistic’ and Britney was just ‘expressing herself.’

Around the time of the performance, Britney told Access Hollywood her mum ‘liked it,’ and her dad Jamie.
‘My dad, weirdly enough, he thought it was fine, too. I mean, come on … it’s Madonna. If you can kiss any girl in the world, that has to be her.’
Fred then went on to prove how little he knows about the Spears household with a baffling question.
‘Who became famous first?’ he asked. Perhaps he needs to read Metro.co.uk‘s Entertainment section a tad more often. We’ll send him the link when he leaves the jungle!

Once Jamie had explained that it was Britney, Fred couldn’t resist asking: ‘Is it true you don’t get on with her now?’
‘I love my sister,’ she quickly retorted.
Britney wrote about her strained relationship with Jamie Lynn in her memoir, The Woman In Me, sharing: ‘My sister and I should have found comfort in each other, but unfortunately that hasn’t been the case.

‘As I was fighting the conservatorship and receiving a lot of press attention, she was writing a book capitalising on it.’
Britney was placed under a conservatorship from 2008 to 2021, which was managed by her dad.
‘She rushed out salacious stories about me, many of them hurtful and outrageous. I was really let down.’
Britney also said she ‘loved’ her sister and wished her ‘the absolute best’.
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! continues Saturday at 9.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX
