Princess Kate is poised to deliver a landmark speech on Wednesday as she continues to promote her Shaping Us campaign.
The 41-year-old launched the campaign in January, and it aims at highlighing the importance of Early Childhood. It is intended to influence attitudes towards how a child’s early years shapes the adult they become.
On Wednesday, the senior royal will host The Shaping Us National Symposium at the Design Museum in London where she will give a speech outlining her future plans for the project.
The Princess of Wales will bring together experts to “consider how we grow, think, and behave throughout life, in order to build resilience for the future”.
In her speech, Kate will explain why she works on early years, how links to her mental health work and will finish by setting out her vision for the future of her work.
The Daily Mail’s Royal Editor Rebecca English says the speech will be “a huge moment for her”.
Fearne Cotton, who is a mental health and well-being advocate, will be hosting the event.
The Symposium will feature talks from a range of leaders to outline the scientific, economic and human cases for prioritising early childhood.
Guests include Professor Jack Shankoff, director of the Centre on the Developing Child at Harvard, Sara Rajeswaran, chief of staff at Aviva and Professor Robert Waldinger, director of the Harvard Study of Adult Development.

When Kate launched Shaping Us at the start of the year she said it is “essential” to “know what we can all do to help raise future generations of happy, healthy adults.”
She intends to devote the rest of her working life to highlighting how what happens in a child’s first five years often dictates how happy, healthy and confident they will be throughout adulthood.
“The campaign is fundamentally about shining a spotlight on the critical importance of early childhood and how it shapes the adults we become,” Kate said when launching the campaign in January. “During this time we lay the foundations and building blocks for life.”
The campaign is a new five to 10-year project to encourage everyone in the UK to give greater priority to the social and emotional development of children.
