Megan Fox has opened up about her frustrations after revealing harrowing abuse in her new book.
The Transformers actress released a book titled Pretty Boys Are Poisonous earlier this week, using poetry to delve into heartbreaking topics including a secret miscarriage she suffered with fiancé Machine Gun Kelly.
Ther 37-year-old also spoke of previous abusive relationships with famous partners, but kept their identities hidden.
Appearing at a book talk in New York on Tuesday, Megan addressed the public reaction to her work, while also describing the unnamed men who hurt her as ‘irrelevant’.
People Magazine reports that she told the crowd her poems were for women who had suffered through similar ordeals.
‘For once, it should be about me,’ the star said, via the outlet. ‘I’m not trying to get anyone canceled.
‘I’m not karma.’
She is also thought to have vented her ‘frustration’ that her Hollywood status means she cannot be as vulnerable about her experiences as possible – explaining that she had to ‘pull back’ on some material.
Megan appeared on Good Morning America on Tuesday to promote Pretty Boys Are Poisonous, sharing why she decided to put pen to paper on her past.
‘I just think it was something inside me that had to come out because it was going to make me sick,’ she told the host.
‘Throughout my life, I have been in at least one physically abuse relationship, and several psychologically very abusive relationships.
‘I’ve only been publicly connected to a few people, but I shared energy with, I guess we could say, [some] who were horrific people, and also very famous people. But no one knows that I was involved with those people.
‘I wrote a lot of things that didn’t make it in the book, because I was like, “This is maybe for God’s eyes only”. Some of it is too much when you’re a known person.’

Megan announced her book in August and wrote more than 70 poems in total.
