Sonia Fowler and Reiss Colwell (Natalie Cassidy and Jonny Freeman) decided to take a huge step in their relationship by undergoing IVF in EastEnders.
The couple made the decision in the summer, and in recent scenes they attended their first appointment.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t all smiles and joy, as Sonia soon grew tired of Reiss’ overbearing behaviour, with the pair rowing before they’d even left Albert Square for the hospital.
Deciding to grab a drink for the road, the couple popped into Kathy’s Café, where Sonia ordered a latte and a black coffee for Reiss.
However, the pair started to bicker when Reiss suggested Sonia order decaf in order to help with the IVF treatment.

Though Sonia pointed out that they hadn’t even started yet, she soon relented and ended up ordering the decaf latte anyway.
At the clinic, Reiss was keen to share the research he had done about what Sonia should and shouldn’t be eating, and it was clear that he was starting to rub her up the wrong way.
Thankfully, before he could carry on, they were called into the appointment, where everything seemingly went well.

That evening, Sonia was ready to start her treatment, though Reiss went totally overboard in creating a relaxed atmosphere, which turned out to be anything but.
He revealed that his research had showed that Sonia should be as relaxed as possible, so he had put on some jungle ambiance sounds and lit candles in the living room.
When Reiss attempted to administer Sonia’s medication, he ended up hurting her, which was the final straw for poor Sonia.

The nurse let rip about how none of Reiss’ actions were helping, and she felt extremely pressured by his constant reminders that this may be their only chance to concieve.
As her anger erupted, she revealed that she wasn’t sure this was going to work at all, causing Reiss to storm off.
