Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez is expected to be available for selection against Manchester City this weekend after his bruising night against Tottenham.
The Blues sealed a 4-1 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on a chaotic Monday night with Fernandez involved in Chelsea’s equaliser in the first-half.
The midfielder was cut down in the penalty box by compatriot Cristian Romero who was shown a straight red card after a VAR review for the challenge, with Cole Palmer scoring the resulting penalty.
Fernandez finished the half but was forced off after 58 minutes, replaced by Mykhailo Mudryk.
Reports in Argentina claim his withdrawal was not the result of the challenge from Romero in the first-half but from twisting his right ankle in a separate incident.
Chelsea will look to build on their victory over their London rivals when they take on champions Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Despite suffering a minor sprain in north London, Fernandez is expected to be fit to start in that match according to Ole in Argentina.

The former Benfica star is also expected to be included in the Argentina squad ahead of crucial World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Brazil.
Fernandez himself offered an update on his knock on Tuesday, insisting he is fighting to be available for the visit of Pep Guardiola’s side.
‘Thanks for all your messages,’ he wrote on Instagram. ‘I am good, working on my recovery to get to the weekend in the best way.’
Fernandez joined Chelsea in a then-club record deal worth £106million in January and has started all but one of Mauricio Pochettino’s league games in charge, missing the 2-0 defeat at home to Brentford in October.
Victory for Chelsea on Monday night saw them move up to 10th in the Premier League.
