Erik ten Hag has praised the integration of Rasmus Hojlund at Manchester United, praising the striker’s character despite his lack of goals so far.
The 20-year-old arrived from Atalanta over the summer and has quickly become the first choice in the middle of United’s front three.
He has started well in the Champions League, scoring three goals in three games so far, but things have not gone so well in the Premier League.
The Dane is still looking for his first goal in the English top flight after eight appearances, with the Red Devils struggling for goals from their forwards as the likes of Marcus Rashford and Antony fail as well.
Ten Hag sounds relaxed about Hojlund, though, saying he is impressing people at the club and is working hard to end his Premier League drought.
‘I think he integrates very good,’ said Ten Hag. ‘He’s scored already three goals in the Champions League, it’s very good for the integration period.
‘As a team, we can be better in possession stuff, we can create more and better chances that will give our offensive players more opportunities to score goals.
‘Social-wise, he integrates very good in the team and the club. From here on, he has to take it on and improve. That’s the character from Rasmus, he wants to improve every day. It’s lovely to work with him, such characters.

‘He understands but, of course, we speak with him about [adapting] because he’s still a young player but he’s smart and he understands the situation, so he’s aware of it.
‘He wants to score goals and when he’s not he’s so keen to score the next game and he’s working very hard in training to get his progress in.’
Hojlund’s compatriot Christian Eriksen has also hailed the personality of the striker and has backed him to improve in the matches to come.
‘First and foremost, he’s a very nice guy, he works very hard, he wants to improve and he does his things and he does his job very well. He’s integrating into the team very well,’ said Eriksen.
‘Of course, when you play more games, the more you get to know each other, so he’s only just arrived and will only get better.’
