Neighbours is set to reveal the truth behind why Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) left Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou) standing at the altar during their wedding last year.
Paul and Terese, as viewers know, reunited in the soap’s finale episode on Channel 5, but when the show returned to screens on Amazon Freevee, the popular couple were no longer together.
Terese was instead engaged to Toadie Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney), with the show’s comeback offering seeing the unlikely couple tie the knot.
The revival series, which is set two years after the events of the finale, later confirmed that Paul and Terese’s relationship had gone sideways during the time off the air.
It all fell apart when Paul jilted Terese at the altar, which was around the same time that Toadie’s marriage to Melanie Pearson (Lucinda Cowden) crashed and burned, with Mel having walked out on her husband, claiming that she wasn’t cut out to be a stepmum.
Both heartbroken by their respective partners, Terese and Toadie sought solace in one another, with romance blossoming as a result.

Paul, meanwhile, is clearly still harbouring feelings for Terese, despite claiming otherwise, and is riddled with guilt over his actions.
This of course begs the question of what exactly led to his change of heart when he left Terese at the altar?
