The dance floor is heating up for Strictly Come Dancing’s contestants as couple’s choice week saw two celebrities in the dance off.
On Saturday’s main show fans were distracted by Bobby Brazier seemingly leaning in to kiss dance partner Dianne Buswell adding to speculation around the pair.
Less spicy was Angela Rippon’s Waltz with partner Kai Widdrington while Adam Thomas and Luba Mushtuk failed to impress for a second week in a row, landing both in the bottom two.
The results opened with an impressive routine choreographed by Strictly alum Oti Mabuse, with singer Zara Larsson giving a belting performance of On My Love.
Unfortunately for the Waterloo Road actor, the second attempt at his Rumba to Dancing on My Own – the Calum Scott version – wasn’t enough to save himself and Luba.
The judges unanimously agreed to keep Angela and Kai but said it was a ‘really tough’ decision as both had improved in the dance-off.

Adam and Luba had been in the hot seat on Halloween week too scraping through against eliminated couple Zara McDermott and Graziano Di Prima.
After both couples had performed their routines again, the judges gave their verdict but noted each dance had been better the second time around.
‘It’s a tough one actually because I think both couples have improved in the dance-off and I really like both couples, so I’m going to have to make a decision on technique alone and on that decision, I would like to save Angela and Kai,’ said Craig Revel Horwood.
Motsi Mabuse agreed with Craig, as she added: ‘It was a really, really tough one this time and both improved.’

Sealing Adam and Luba’s fate Anton du Beke gave his verdict and said: ‘This is the closest dance-off we’ve had in the series so far, it’s been easy so far but this has been the most difficult.’
He noted the ‘very different styles of dance’ but shared his decision had come down to the ‘content and clarity of the technique’.
This was the end of the road for the couple, with Head Judge Shirley Ballas adding she too would have saved Angela and Kai.
Emotional, when asked by Tess about his time on the show, Adam said: ‘Seven incredible weeks, what a journey it’s been. I honestly thought I was leaving in week two and the fact that I’ve got this far I’m so proud of myself, I’ve had an amazing time from start to finish.

‘I came here to learn how to dance and I’ve learned so much more about myself. The confidence and self-belief I now have in myself, it’s out of this world I have to thank all these guys up here.
‘What a bunch to be on this journey with, I’m just very, very lucky! I know my kids are at home now probably crying, it’s okay – Daddy’s okay! I just wanted to teach my kids that it’s not just about winning or losing, it’s about taking part and doing your best.’
Sweetly, he turned to Luba and apologised for not getting to the coveted Blackpool shows but thanked her for the experience.
She replied: ‘Don’t be sorry, you are incredible, I had the best season. Just to get to know you, your family and kids, it’s been much more than just a dance show.
‘You’re the winner of my heart forever and it’s better than a trophy.’
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
