Johnny Logan has confirmed he’s been left ‘devastated’ by the death of his brother earlier this week.
The 69-year-old Eurovision legend’s older sibling, 71-year-old Mick Sherrard, died in a Manchester hospital on Wednesday due to Covid complications.
He was surrounded by his children.
Speaking on Saturday, Johnny – real name Sean Sherrard – revealed he’s still crying ‘every 15 to 20 minutes’ and is ‘devastated’.
‘Since I woke up this morning, I’m welling up all the time, every 15 or 20 minutes. [The grief] comes in and out all the time.’
He added to Sunday World: ‘I’m devastated. I left him in Manchester on Tuesday, where I had been with him in the hospital from the previous day.

The next day I called and the kids said, “He’s gone, we were with him, we were holding his hand”.
‘So he wasn’t alone, which was my big fear.’
Tragically, Johnny also said he was sure he’d see his brother again when he left the hospital earlier in the week.
‘When I was leaving, I thought I’d see him again, although at the same time, I was aware that I might not,’ he shared, adding: ‘But as I left he had a glass of milk in his hand and was able to eat a melon.’

Johnny then noted that he thought his sibling would be OK for ‘at least another 24 or 48 hours’.
‘It’s heartbreaking,’ he added to the outlet.
Irish singer Johnny is best known for being the first singer to win Eurovision twice.
He first won the world-famous singing competition in 1980 with hit What’s Another Year.
Then, in 1987, Johnny won again with song Hold Me Now.
The hit topped charts in Ireland, Belgium and Israel.
Johnny remained the only person to have won Eurovision twice until 2023 when Loreen won for the second time.
