Selling Sunset’s Jason Oppenheim reveals where he stands with ex Marie-Lou Nurk after Chrishell Stause showdown

Season seven of Selling Sunset may have only just been released on Netflix today, but a lot has already changed in the Oppenheim Group after filming ended.

Much of the series focused on Mary Fitzgerald’s pregnancy and heartbreaking miscarriage with husband Romain Bonnet.

We also saw the ongoing drama between Bre Tiesi and Chelsea Lazkani, while Jason Oppenheim’s then-girlfriend, Marie-Lou Nurk felt slighted by Chrishell Stause, who then found herself in a feud with Amanza Smith.

It’s safe to say that the season was a rollercoaster for the whole cast.

However, the new episodes might be slightly awkward viewing for the Selling Sunset boss, after he split with the model, 26, shortly after the cameras stopped rolling.

In a new interview, the 46-year-old lifted the lid on where they stand now, revealing that they are still in contact despite the break-up.

‘I care a lot about her and she’s doing great,’ he told E! News. ‘It’s not easy to go through this process. I mean, most of us have been around [the show] for a while.

‘For Lou, this is really new and I think that comes with a certain level of anxiety. So, I’m trying to calm those concerns. Sometimes that’s what our conversations are about. But we’re still good.’

The former couple started dating last year, following Jason’s relationship with Chrishell coming to an end in 2021.

Their 20-year age gap raised eyebrows with some of the Selling Sunset cast when Marie-Lou made her debut on the series in season six.

The newcomer didn’t have the best time of it in front of the cameras, and had an awkward run-in with Chrishell over a tense lunch in the most recent series – after she called the agent out for not being welcoming to her.

She also phoned Jason during their heated discussion, and questioned whether there were still feelings between the exes, leaving viewers squirming.

Unpacking the scenes in a chat with DailyMail.com, the business mogul admitted that the series eventually put a ‘strain’ on their romance.

‘I was cringing at a couple of scenes, including the luncheon because it was awkward and uncomfortable when it was actually happening in real life,’ he told the outlet.

‘I didn’t want to watch it! It reminded me how uncomfortable I was on the phone. I was just sitting there listening and I remember being uncomfortable in the moment.’

Spilling the beans on his love life after their romance ended, he added: ‘I’m just enjoying taking a step back from dating.

‘I’m not eager to be back into a relationship or anything serious. I’m just enjoying my time right now. I’m genuinely happy. I’m not really dating.’
