Friends superfans are calling for an ‘eerie’ scene to be removed from an episode in the wake of Matthew Perry’s death.

Perry – who became a household name playing funnyman Chandler Bing during 10 seasons of the hit comedy Friends – died aged 54 after reportedly drowning at his Los Angeles home.

Tributes have since been shared for the much-loved actor and John, 60, has shared his own happy memories of being on set for the popular sitcom.

Following the tragic news, clips of Perry on the hit sitcom have resurfaced on social media.

However, the fifth episode in season seven – titled The One With The Engagement Picture -Perry’s character Chandler and Monica Gellar (Courteney Cox) are seen getting their photo professionally taken for their wedding announcement.

While Monica is posing, Chandler struggles to smile naturally, so Monica asks: ‘What is the matter with your face? Like, this picture is supposed to say Gellar and Bing to be married. Not local woman saves drowning moron.’

Following the tragic news of Perry’s death several fans called for this particular scene to be cut from the episode.

‘Could this scene BE anymore eerie,’ one person commented

‘Nah they gotta cut this scene out now,’ another agreed while a third added: ‘This scene will never be watched in the same way again at least I can’t.’

However, many believed that the episodes shouldn’t be edited at all.

On Sunday evening, Perry’s family released a statement expressing their heartache following his death.
