Matthew Perry rose to fame on Friends and was discovered dead aged 54 at his Los Angeles home on Saturday, October 28.
The late actor was said to have drowned in a jacuzzi, following which a Los Angeles police officer told the Associated Press they had been called to the actor’s home address for ‘a death investigation of a male in his 50s’.
In a statement Warner Bros, which made Friends, said: ‘Matthew was an incredibly gifted actor and an indelible part of the Warner Bros Television Group family.
‘The impact of his comedic genius was felt around the world, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of so many.
‘This is a heartbreaking day, and we send our love to his family, his loved ones, and all of his devoted fans.’
Perry was nominated for an Emmy for his role as Chandler Bing in the sitcom, which ran from 1994 to 2004.

Ahead of his untimely death, the star was linked to a number of famous women and spoke openly about his tumultuous personal life that was peppered with addiction and substance abuse.

Was Matthew Perry married?
Matthew Perry was never married, but was reported to have been in a series of relationships throughout the course of his career.
Despite never walking down the aisle, the sitcom star was previously engaged to his literary manager Molly Hurwitz.
He popped the question in 2020, two years after the couple started their romantic relationship back in 2018. However, the pair then called it quits shortly afterwards and ended their engagement in 2021.
Perry explained to People magazine at the time: ‘I decided to get engaged.

‘Luckily, I happened to be dating the greatest woman on the face of the planet at this time.’
He later then revealed to the same publication the news of their split and said: ‘Sometimes things just don’t work out and this is one of them. I wish Molly the best.’
Does Matthew Perry have children?
Perry dated a plethora of well-known women across the decades, but never welcomed any children with them.
He was said to have been in a relationship with Pretty Woman star Julia Roberts from 1995 to 1996 – following which he dated Baywatch actress Yasmine Bleeth that same year and Scream’s Neve Campbell in 1998.

The actor also spent time with actress Maeve Quinlan from 2002 until they split in 2003 and Rachel Dunn, who he spent two years with having met in 2003.
His longest lasting partnership was with American actress and Mean Girls star Lizzy Caplan, who he dated for almost six years from 2006 until they parted ways in 2012.
Perry spoke with People magazine about having children before his death, and admitted he thought he would be a ‘great’ father.
He said after becoming sober in 2021: ‘I think I’d be great. I really do. I grew up with a lot of little kids around me, and that’s probably why, but I can’t wait.’
