Emmerdale fans were recently left in shock after discovering Karen Blick’s real age.
The actress, who plays Lydia Dingle in the show, celebrated her birthday this week and shared some images from her special day on Instagram.
As well as a selfie, Karen also shared a small glimpse at the cards and gifts she received from loved ones.
Feeling fabulous, Karen wrote alongside the pictures: ‘Last year of my 40’s! Had a great day so far and feeling very grateful, morning walk, lovely cards, messages, homemade gifts and cake!’.

The actress received many wonderful celebratory messages from fans and co-stars including Michelle Hardwick and Lisa Riley.
One follower also said: ‘Happy Birthday Karen, I thought you were late 30’s…you look amazing!’, while another added: ‘No way are you 49! I thought you were much younger Karen’.

Lydia was left devastated when she discovered Mandy (Lisa Riley), Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) and Vinny (Bradley Johnson) had gone to Craig’s work to try and scare him ‘the Dingle way’.
With the trio under the impression they had helped Lydia’s situation, matters were made worse when Craig had the audacity to enter the pub and attempt to order a drink.
After a showdown between Craig and the Dingles, Lydia returned home and told Sam (James Hooton) that his family had added to her ongoing torture.

Next week, Lydia will instruct the Dingles to meet in the Woolpack after learning that Craig has been killed.
She will question them one by one, with flashback scenes revealing what they’ve all been up to – but who was responsible for Craig’s death?
