Cindy was given some devastating news (Picture: BBC)
Ian and Cindy Beale (Adam Woodyatt and Michelle Collins) have been absolutely determined to get their hands on some of the cash from the sale of Marbella Knights in EastEnders, but so far luck hasn’t been on their side.
Despite everything they have tried, George Knight (Colin Salmon) has refused to hand over a penny, claiming that Cindy has absolutely no right to the money having walked out on them with no explanation nine years ago.
In recent scenes, Ian took desperate measures to get their hands on Cindy’s share by hiring a solicitor to look into the situation.
Though Cindy wasn’t sure they could afford the legal help, Ian pointed out that they couldn’t afford not to, as they were relying on the money from the sale of the bar to fund their new business.
Unfortunately, the solicitor didn’t bring them the news they were hoping for, as shocked Cindy read out an email which stated that she had no claim to any of the money.

Cindy was horrified to learn that all of the finances had been settled in her divorce – which she hadn’t been around for – so the Knights weren’t required to give her anything.
As Cindy pointed out that she hadn’t been in a position to agree to the terms of the divorce, Ian suggested they get a new solicitor and sue this one for malpractice.

Once again, Cindy had to point out that they didn’t have the money to do that, and they would have to go back to the drawing board.
Their idea to start another business in Albert Square was all part of a plan to win back Cindy’s daughters, Gina and Anna (Francesca Henry and Molly Rainford) by laying roots in Walford to prove that Cindy wouldn’t disappear from their lives again.

However, the relationship with her daughters has remained strained with Gina flatly refusing to join Cindy and Anna as they sorted through things from the bar.
Things soon went from bad to worse for Cindy when Anna overheard an argument between her and George, and had soon also turned her back on her.
Will things ever start to go Cindy’s way, or is she doomed to be running from her previous lies forever?
