Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) continued to fall apart in Wednesday’s (October 18) episode of EastEnders after declaring that he would never move on from Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold).
Jay’s emotions were tested again when Billy (Perry Fenwick) approached and discussed the prospect of scattering Lola’s ashes. For Jay, he has found the aftermath of Lola’s death incredibly hard to deal with and recently, started taking ketamine and drinking more to try and numb what he was feeling.
Tonight, Honey (Emma Barton) found Jay on a bench outside the chippy. He was drunk and carving an L into the bench right beside the marking he did for his dad, Jase, who died in 2008.
Jay expressed his thoughts to Honey and said that if he writes Lola’s name in the bench, he will be reminded of her everyday he walks past it. Terrified he might forget her, Jay said that he also wants to keep Lola’s ashes so the wind doesn’t blow them away, and wondered if moving on meant that he didn’t love her enough.

Honey told Jay that moving on isn’t about forgetting, it’s about allowing yourself to be happy – and everyone wants Jay to be happy.
Things sadly didn’t get any better for Jay. He drunk more, headed to Peggy’s for a while and then made his way to the car lot after contacting sex worker Nadine (Jazzy Phoenix) for more ketamine.

There, Jay suddenly kissed Nadine and later slept with her.
Nadine collected her money and left, leaving Jay to sit alone and cry.
The beloved character will spiral further in next week’s episodes. After being thrown out of the family by Billy, Jay will tell friend Gina (Francesca Henry) that he wants to drive to Margate, where he spent the day with Lola shortly before her death.

However, shortly after Jay leaves, Ben (Max Bowden), Callum (Tony Clay) and Billy will then be told he’s been in a terrible accident.
And due to the fact none of them are Jay’s next of kin, Ben, Callum and Billy will play a waiting game as they desperately try and find out what’s happened.
