Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce)’s reign of terror may be over in Coronation Street, following an explosive week in which he left Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) for dead and held a broken bottle to Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews)’s throat in a bid to escape justice. But in the aftermath of his actions, victims are still being claimed.
Not in terms of deaths – hopefully Stephen’s own death means that the residents of Weatherfield can sleep safely in their beds once more. But in terms of livelihoods, the future of Underworld hangs in the balance because of Stephen’s crimes.
Stephen cheated Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) into giving him the passcode for the factory’s bank accounts and then emptied them of all the money. It looks like there’s no way to get the funds back because Michael gave up the code willingly (not realising at that point that Stephen was up to no good), so their insurance won’t cover the loss.

This has left Carla (Alison King) fighting for the future of the business that she’s spent so many years building up. It also leaves employees like Kirk (Andrew Whyment), Beth (Lisa George) and Simon (Alex Bain) worrying about their future. Will they still have jobs?
Refusing to give up, Carla plans to fly to Spain to negotiate a lucrative contract which could safeguard everyone’s future.
Though not quite everyone. While she’s gone she leaves Sarah (Tina O’Brien) in charge – and leaves her with an unpleasant task.
What will he do now? (Picture: ITV)
In a new spoiler video we see the moment when Sarah calls a nervous Michael into the office. The loss of the Nippersnapper business, which Michael was a huge part of, has left him worried for the future so he’s come up with some ideas about new collaborations.
It’s clear that Sarah hasn’t called him in to discuss future plans. ‘I’m sorry,’ she says. She admits that Michael has done ‘so much’ for the company and for her. ‘If it was my decision on my own…’ she says.
