Financial Times – Scrapping HS2 will hurt trust in UK, warns Birmingham City’s US owners 

Birmingham City football club’s US owners have warned Prime Minister Rishi Sunak he will damage trust in Britain if he aborts the HS2 high-speed rail project, the Financial Times reports.

The paper says club chair Tom Wagner has written to the prime minister saying that the current HS2 plans were a factor in the decision of US hedge fund Knighthead Capital Management, where he is co-chair, to invest in the club.
