It’s been confirmed that Doctor Zoe Hanna will return to Casualty in 2024.
The Casualty Instagram account revealed today that Sunetra Sarker will reprise her role as Zoe after her final appearance in 2018.
Not much is known about Zoe’s return to the ED so far, but the news comes just weeks after it was confirmed Casualty icon Derek Thompson will leave the show.
Derek, who has played Charlie Fairhead since the very first episode of the medical drama, will be filming until the autumn.

Discussing his departure after so long, Derek said: ‘The time has come for me to hang up Charlie’s scrubs after the most wonderful 37 years. Charlie Fairhead was inspired by a real nurse – Pete Salt.
