Woody Allen has insisted he’s received ‘no complaints’ from women working on his movies and believes he hasn’t been cancelled.
The controversial Hollywood filmmaker, 87, has jetted over to the Venice International Film Festival where he is promoting his new movie Coup de Chance.
His invitation to attend the prestigious festival has been criticised in light of the sexual abuse allegations Allen has faced over the years.
Notably, the director has been accused of sexually abusing his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow when she was a child, allegations of which featured in the recent HBO documentary Allen v Farrow.
Allen has vehemently denied the claims and continues to do so.
In recent years, several actresses have detailed their experiences working with Allen, including Kate Winslet who said she has ‘regrets’ about appearing in one of his films, while Hayley Atwell talked about her ‘bizarre’ experience on-set and said she ‘stood in solidarity with his daughter.’

However, in a new interview with Variety, Allen insisted ‘not one [woman] had ever complained and there’s nothing to complain about’ when it comes to his movies.
He added: ‘I’ve always had very good parts for women, always had women in the crew, always paid them the exact same amount that we paid men, worked with hundreds of actresses, and never, ever had a single complaint from any of them at any point.
‘Not a single one ever said, “Working with him, he was mean or he was harassing.” That’s just not been an issue.’
The filmmaker also addressed cancel culture and stated: ‘I feel if you’re going to be cancelled, this is the culture to be cancelled by. I just find that all so silly. I don’t think about it.
‘I don’t know what it means to be cancelled. I know that over the years everything has been the same for me. I make my movies.’

Allen previously addressed the allegations regarding Dylan, now 38, in March 2021 before the HBO documentary aired.
‘It’s so preposterous, and yet the smear has remained and they still prefer to cling to if not the notion that I molested Dylan, then the possibility that I molested her,’ he said at the time.
‘Nothing that I ever did with Dylan in my life could be misconstrued as that.’
Allen became a parental figure to Dylan when her mother Mia Farrow adopted her while in a relationship with the director.
