Met Office’s verdict on ‘Indian summer’ as warm weather could return next month

Nottingham Post says The Met Office has predicted when warm weather could return to the UK in what could be an ‘Indian summer’. It comes after rain has plagued England for much of the season, in contrast to the extreme heat experienced in Europe.

Parts of the UK have even seen flooding and next weekend’s August Bank Holiday looks set to be another rainy, drizzly disappointment, according to the Met Office. The Met Office’s long range forecast has now offered a glimmer of hope though to those missing the sun.

The UK weather experts have predicted a period in the middle to the end of September will have ‘prolonged spells of warm weather’ with temperatures ‘slightly above average’, YorkshireLive reports. For the dates September 4 to September 18, the Met Office says: “There are currently few strong signals for the first half of September, meaning that typical early-Autumnal conditions are the most likely scenario across the UK. Northern and western areas are likely to see more unsettled weather, with the greatest likelihood of drier weather being in the south and east.
