Maya Jama donated a whopping £56,000 to a Bristol basketball team so they could buy a new minibus.
What’s more, the 29-year-old Love Island host decided upon the incredible gesture after learning team Bristol Storm had only managed to raise £100 for the new vehicle via a fundraiser.
Maya, who hails from Bristol, decided to support the under-16s team after hearing about their troubles from her younger brother, who is part of the squad.
Bristol Storm’s old bus had failed its MoT and the shiny new vehicle arrived last week.
Discussing Maya’s incredible gesture when chatting to the Sun, the team’s coach, 44-year-old David Senart, said: ‘She’s a lovely person. When she said she wanted to buy us a new minibus, I cried.’
He added: ‘She saw the importance of what we’re doing and the impact on these kids’ lives.

‘It was lovely gesture because we’d never have that sort of money.’
It’s not the first time Maya has supported Bristol Storm, with the star having previously attended an awards ceremony for the team.

The presenter shared a collection of snaps from the Ibiza villa she rented with friends for her big day, and it seemed she was thoroughly enjoying herself on the notorious party island.
Meanwhile, Maya also recently reconnected with her ex Stormzy at his epic All Points East show.
The chart-topper, 30, had his hometown crowd truly bouncing in Victoria Park – despite the pouring rain – thanks to a performance branded ‘biblical’ by his fans.

It seemed that vibe continued on afterwards as he enjoyed some time with his ex Maya, who reportedly flew back from Ibiza to support him.
Pictures showed the former couple – who split in 2019 after a four-year romance – smiling and chatting as they strolled together, carrying drinks.
