Coleen Nolan might be best known as a panellist on Loose Women nowadays but she’s had some strange celebrity interactions as a pop star, including being spat on.
Back in the 80s and early 90s, Coleen found chart success singing with her sisters as The Nolans with hits like I’m in the Mood for Dancing.
The Nolans, also known as The Nolan Sisters, consisted of Coleen, Maureen, Anne, Bernie, Linda, and Denise in various configurations over the years.
Their success led to tours and stints on the popular British chart show, Top of the Pops.
Unfortunately for Coleen, one of the group’s many appearances on the show ended up with her being spat on by a punk band.
‘At Top of the Pops, we got spat on by another group,’ she confessed on Loose Women during a discussion about concert ettiquete.

‘Yeah one of those punk groups,’ continued the pop star as her horrified co-star said: ‘You got spat on?’
Coleen had the last laugh though, adding: ‘Where are they now, that’s what I say!’
The audience and panel erupted into laughter before she clarified that this was a true story and happened as she walked down the corridor of the BBC show.
‘That’s disgusting,’ said her co-stars, which Coleen agreed, although she didn’t give away which band did it.
The Nolans appeared on the now cancelled music show in 1979, 1980, and 1981, often performing their chart-topping I’m In The Mood For Dancing.
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV
