NFL star David Montgomery and his girlfriend Tatum Causey have been caught up in a grizzly dog attack incident.
Their American pitbull mix Lola allegedly broke the leg of another dog and left the animal’s owners with ‘bite wounds and lacerations’.
Montgomery, 26, recently moved to Michigan with his family after signing an $18million (£14million) contract with the Detroit Lions.
Speaking to police, Causey said she only realised Lola had escaped from the house when she went out into the back garden.
Lola then attacked a smaller dog on the sidewalk, according to TMZ.
According to police documents seen by the outlet, police attended Montgomery and Causey’s residence on June 4.

Causey, who shares a child with Montgomery, could be seen speaking to police in bodycam footage, saying: ‘I go inside, literally opened the door and I said, “Anybody see Lola?”’
Speaking on the scene, Causey added: ‘So, I’m looking in the backyard for her – she normally stays right in the backyard — but when I walk out, I see my brother carrying her.’
An incident report stated that the owners of the dog bitten by Lola said Montgomery’s dog ‘wouldn’t let go’ of their pet’s leg.
The complainant wrote: ‘I heard our dog’s leg break,’ and also claimed to have suffered ‘bite wounds and lacerations’ of their own.

As for their dog, they said it needed stitches and suffered two leg fractures.
Causey was charged with misdemeanour harbouring a vicious dog but according to court documents pleaded not guilty when she appeared in court towards the end of June.
She’s due to appear again in court in September.
TMZ also notes that Causey recently shared an emotional tribute to Lola, suggesting the animal had ‘passed away’.
Causey said: ‘So many quiet days just filled with your unconditional love. You are and always will be the best. My soul dog, I love you forever and ever my Lola Bear.’
The doting mum posted a slew of photos of the brown and white dog.
Speaking in May about his move to Detroit, Montgomery said he ‘feels refreshed by greater expectations’.
He told NFL News of his old club The Bears: ‘It got to a point where it sucked the fun out of the game for me because I’m a competitor. I like to compete. That’s what football’s about. It’s so refreshing to be in a place where that’s appreciated.’
