Ryan Gosling channeled his Kenergy to pull off an impressive birthday surprise for Greta Gerwig.
As if she wasn’t having a big enough month already, what with her hit film Barbie fast approaching the $1 billion (£784 million) club following its release, she also turns 40.
And to mark the occasion, Drive star Gosling, 42, organised a Barbie-themed flash mob to surprise the Lady Bird director.
While enjoying a pilates class, the group burst in, much to the shock and delight of Gerwig, before beginning to dance to the song I’m Just Ken from the hit motion picture.
They then welcomed more dancers for a grand finale to Dua Lipa’s hit song from the film, Dance The Night.
Gerwig could be seen tearing up in the video, posted to the official Barbie movie Instagram account, as she embraced the dancers following their routine.

The caption for the post reads: ‘As Kens know…. Sometimes the only way to express your feelings is through song & dance!
‘Ken Ryan sent these special Barbies and Kens to start Greta’s birthday with all the feelings!!’
After receiving high praise for his portrayal of Ken, Gosling has become a chart-topping musician with his single I’m Just Ken which is featured in the movie.
The soundtrack for the Barbie movie has taken over the UK singles charts by breaking previous records, the Official Charts Company has said.
Barbie: The Album, which accompanies the hilarious, pretty-in-pink Barbieland romp, has become the first film soundtrack to land three top-five songs at the same time.

‘He has a beautiful voice, and he’s a beautiful dancer. We kind of got there organically. I think if I had said, ‘I want you to sing and dance in this movie’, he would not have necessarily done that for me,’ she told Rolling Stone.
‘But it was kind of that thing of boiling a lobster. I think by the time he was singing and dancing, he didn’t even totally know how we had gotten there. But he’s so fabulous at it.’
