Rita shocked EastEnders fans earlier this year when character Roxy returned to screens for a single episode, which saw daughter Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) talk to her mum in her imagination.
Following the episode, Rita revealed that she had had interest from a rival soap, shutting down rumours that she may be headed back to Albert Square full time.
It was later announced that she would be joining the cast of Hollyoaks.
She will join former EastEnders star Glynis Barber, who played Roxy’s mum, Glenda.
