Grand Theft Auto 5 – how many times have you beaten GTA 5 by now? (pic: Rockstar)
After vanishing from Game Pass back in 2021, GTA 5 has made a comeback and the upgraded Xbox Series X version’s available now too.
One downside of Xbox Game Pass is that some games are only on there for a limited time and you may not have the chance to get around to them until they’re gone.
Case in point: Grand Theft Auto 5. It came to Game Pass in 2021, but was only available for four months, eventually departing in August of that year.
For whatever reason, Microsoft has decided to put it back, almost two years later, and the good news is that it’s available right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, meaning you can try the fancier upgraded version at no extra cost.
Unfortunately for PC owners, this is only for Xbox Game Pass on consoles. Considering it wasn’t added to PC Game Pass last time, you’d think Microsoft might’ve rectified that this time but that’s not the case.
Admittedly, with the game being nearly 10 years old (its anniversary is in September), it’s frequently discounted, so it’s easy to pick the game up for cheap on PC.
At the time of writing, you can buy it on Steam for just £14.98, which is a saving of 63%.

GTA 5 isn’t the only new addition to Game Pass this month. It’s joined by Taiwanese action role-player Sword And Fairy: Together Forever, which is available on PC.
The rest of the month includes puzzle game McPixel 3, settlement simulator Common’hood, tactical shooter Insurgency: Sandstorm, Monkey Island creator Ron Gilbert’s The Cave, and Capcom’s not Dino Crisis title Exoprimal, which comes to Game Pass the same day as it launches on July 14.
