Grace was determined to protect her ‘sisters’ Cindy and Zara (Picture: Lime Pictures)
Grace Black (Tamara Wall) made the ultimate sacrifice in Hollyoaks, throwing herself to the wolves in a bid to save her accomplices and friends from a life behind bars.
The gangster, who largely oversaw the much talked-about heist, was determined to start a new life with son Curtis in Rio, turning over a new leaf for a new life away from criminality.
But with Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) in desperate need of cash to save the market, which was destroyed in a crash earlier this year, Grace offered her expertise as a criminal for one final crime, as they organised a bank job, much to Zara Morgan’s (Kelly Condron) horror.
Zara ultimately reconsidered her stance on the matter, however, joining her flatmates and friends for the criminal caper, with the trio roping in Damon Kinsella (Jacob Roberts) as a gateway driver.
The heist commenced earlier this week, with everything going according to plan at first, but Cindy’s behaviour was soon called into question, with it coming to light that she had stopped taking her bipolar medication.
Matters were complicated further when Cindy accidentally activated the alarm in the armoured truck, locking the trio inside, with authorities subsequently notified that there was a crime in motion.

Grace berated Cindy for what she’d done, with Zara leaping to her sister-in-law’s defence. Damon, meanwhile, was horrified to hear what had happened and, given that the gates were shut, he was unable to make his way inside to rescue everyone.
Zara bid an emotional farewell to Damon over a walkie talkie, while Grace came to believe that this was all her fault for spying an opportunity to break the law one last time when instead she should’ve talked Cindy out of the heist.
Breaking down in tears, Grace branded Cindy and Zara her ‘sisters’, telling them she’s never been happier than she has over the past few months, with subsequent scenes seeing her step out of the armoured van to surrender to the police, taking the blame for the crime.

In the van, Zara and Cindy were tied up, looking very much like hostages of Grace, who told the arresting officers her name, before revealing that she works ‘alone’.
Grace has sealed her own fate, but will she be facing a sentence in prison? What’s more, has she successfully got Cindy and Zara off the hook? And what about Damon? Last he was seen, he was gathering a few bits and bobs, but will he really leave the village?
