Sir Elton John wrapped up Glastonbury 2023 with an absolutely unforgettable two-hour-long set, including some songs he hasn’t sung in over a decade.
The 76-year-old played to an estimated 120,000 fans at the Pyramid Stage with drone footage showing a packed audience for the farewell performance.
He was joined on stage by four special guests, which didn’t include Britney Spears or Dua Lipa, but did feature Rina Sawayama and The Killers’ Brandon Flowers.
Fans waited from 4am to see their idol, dressed in iconic Elton outfits but the real eye-catcher was the sheer number of celebrities who had come to see the legend sing.
Glastonbury is known for being the perfect occasion for some celebrity spotting, pulling in both big names on stage and off but Sir Elton’s performance saw an unprecedented number of celebs in the crowd.
From the balcony viewing platform at the side of the stage to familiar faces nestled in the crowd, the Pyramid Stage was the place to be for the rich and famous.

Sir Elton took to the Pyramid Stage at 9pm for his set and instantly fans spotted some blink-and-you’ll-miss-it celeb moments.
Keen fans may have spotted the star’s husband of nine years, David Furnish, in the VIP box, eagerly watching with their two sons, Zachary, 12, and Elijah, 10.
Sir Paul McCartney also stood watching the performance of a lifetime from just off stage, with fans online begging the legends to do a duet together.
The Beatles icon headlined Glasto himself last year, drawing in an estimated crowd of 100,000 – although we think Elton may have beaten that this year.
British designer and daughter of Sir Paul, Stella McCartney joined her dad to witness the headlining performance.

Kate Hudson, actress and daughter of Goldie Hawn, was spotted and gave fans a wave of nostalgia for her breakthrough role in the 2000’s film, Almost Famous.
The actress played protagonist Penny Lane in the film, who at one point sings along to Tiny Dancer – which Sir Elton sang at Glasto with The Killers’ frontman Brandon Flowers.
The VIP box also hosted Emma actress Anya Taylor-Joy and Kraven actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson and his wife Sam, who was happily chatting with F1 driver Sir Lewis Hamilton.
Lizzo, fresh off her performance on Saturday, joined fellow artist Debbie Harry as well as Dave Grohl’s daughter Violet to listen to Sir Elton.
Fans joked that Dave Grohl would join the Rocketman singer as a special guest as he had popped up at other artists’ gigs after the Foo Fighters’ surprise set on day three.

Amid the crowds, a very familiar face to Sir Elton fans was lurking as Taron Egerton watched the set with Rocketman director Dexter Fletcher.
Taron worked with Sir Elton in Kingsman: The Golden Circle before taking on the role of the singer himself in the biographical musical Rocketman to critical acclaim.
Pictures of the director and actor were posted by comedian David Walliams and celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, who was also watching from the crowd.
TV presenter Laura Whitmore shared pictures of herself and friends in the Sir Elton crowd, joined by Leigh Francis, better known as Keith Lemon.
