Manchester United and Bayern Munich are the frontrunners to sign Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani, according to reports.
Erik ten Hag’s main priority this summer is to sign a new No.9 but his plans have so far been scuppered with top target Harry Kane seemingly unobtainable thanks to Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.
The Red Devils have other targets in mind namely Atalanta star Rasmus Hojlund and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, as well as Kolo Muani who enjoyed an outstanding 2022/23 campaign.
The forward, who only joined Frankfurt on a free from Nantes last summer, scored 23 goals in 45 games across all competitions and recorded the most assists in the Bundesliga with 14.
He was named in the Bundesliga Team of the Season and helped France reach the World Cup final in Qatar, scoring in the semi-final against Morocco.
With all that in mind it is no wonder Europe’s elite clubs are after him, though Frankfurt are, unsurprisingly, desperate to keep hold of their talisman.
L’Équipe now report that United are leading the race for the 24-year-old alongside Bayern who have long held an interest.

PSG have also been linked though they are unlikely to move for him but the report also claims that Chelsea could throw their hat into the ring even though they have just completed the signing of Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig.
Any club who wants Kolo Muani will have to break the bank to do it however, with Frankfurt setting an asking price of €100million (£85.8m) though they are happy for some of that fee to be covered in add-ons.
