Nigel Reo-Coker predicts Declan Rice’s next club amid Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd and Man City transfer links

Nigel Reo-Coker expects another Premier League club to sign West Ham captain Declan Rice instead of Arsenal this summer.

England midfielder Rice has attracted interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe, with West Ham already confirming he will likely be sold.

Given the substantial interest in Rice, West Ham are holding out for an offer of around £100m for the 24-year-old, having rejected Arsenal’s opening bid of £80m.

While Arsenal remain optimistic of signing Rice, the Gunners face competition from London rivals Chelsea as well as Manchester giants United and City.

Chelsea released Rice when he was 15 but are keen to bring him back to Stamford Bridge to form a formidable midfield partnership with World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez.

United boss Erik ten Hag and City manager Pep Guardiola are also admirers of Rice, with both clubs interested in signing a new midfielder during the summer transfer window.

Former West Ham midfielder Reo-Coker believes Rice ‘wants’ to move to Arsenal but reckons he will end up at Premier League champions and Champions League holders Manchester City.

‘Where is he going? That is going to be interesting,’ Reo-Coker said on BBC Radio Five Live’s Football Daily Podcast. ‘This is the midfielders market this year.

‘Personally I think he wants to go to Arsenal, but I think West Ham won’t make it easy for him.

‘There is real interest from Manchester City too with the situation with [Ilkay] Gundogan and [Bernardo] Silva.

‘I do personally believe there is strong interest from there, but I could see him going to Man City if I’m honest. That’s just my personal opinion.’
