Emil Forsberg has recommended Anthony Elanga to RB Leipzig and says the Manchester United winger would be a ‘good fit’ for the Bundesliga side.
United are believed to be open to offers for Elanga after the Sweden international struggled for game-time last season.
The 21-year-old only started seven games in all competitions and hinted at a summer move earlier in the year, admitting he was ‘frustrated’ by the lack of opportunities at Old Trafford.
RB Leipzig have been heavily linked with a move for Elanga and one of their star players has endorsed the move and even revealed he intends to speak to the club’s president to back the deal.
‘I will sit down with the president, with Oliver [Mintzlaff], here soon and see what we should do,’ Leipzig midfielder Forsberg told Fotboll Skanalen.
‘We’ll see. Anthony would have been a good fit with us. A young player who wants to get better. We’ll see. It can happen.
‘I have spoken to Anthony. But it stays between us. I know Anthony quite well, so it’s quite normal if it were to come up.

‘But he is a young and talented player who fits in with us. We have been good at developing young and talented players.’
Forsberg has made more than 300 appearances for RB Leipzig since joining the club in 2015 and earned 80 caps for Sweden, some of which have been alongside Elanga.
Speaking in March, Elanga admitted he was ‘frustrated’ with his lack of game-time at Old Trafford and would speak to the club about his options in the summer.
He told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet: ‘It is frustrating. You want to play, it’s important. But whether you play or not, it’s up to the coach not me.’

He continued: ‘I have spoken to Erik [Ten Hag] and it is private between the two of us.
‘I know what he wants me to do and I just keep training hard. When the opportunity comes, I just have to be ready to take it.
‘We have a lot of conversations, not only about [the lack of game time] but also what is happening around. That’s the good thing about the club, we talk a lot and they help me a lot.’
