PSV Eindhoven star Xavi Simons says he will decide his club future in the coming weeks amid interest from Arsenal.
The 20-year-old enjoyed a wonderful 2022-23 season with the Dutch giants, scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists in 48 appearances.
Reports in Netherlands last week claimed several clubs have been tracking the attacking midfielder’s progress this season with Arsenal leading the race for his signature.
PSV will likely demand a club record fee should they decide to cash in on the 20-year-old this summer. That record currently stands at £37million, which Liverpool paid to land Cody Gakpo during the January transfer window.
Simons is currently with the Dutch squad ahead of the Nations League semi-final clash with Croatia next week with the winner set to take on Spain or Italy four days later.
The former Paris-Saint Germain starlet says he is unsure if he will still be PSV player next season but will make a decision with his family in the coming weeks.
‘I don’t know yet’ Simons said when asked about his future. ‘I’m now with the Dutch national team, I’m going to work here for two weeks and then we’ll see what happens. Soon we will decide together with family what is best for me.’

Simons joined PSV last summer from Paris Saint-Germain and he has a clause in his contract which would allow him to return to the French club this summer for €12 million (£10.2m).
However, Simons has indicated that he would not consider a return to PSG at this stage.
‘It is a clause between me and PSV. Not between me and Paris Saint-Germain,’ Simons said earlier this season.

‘It’s a clause that, if I wanted to go to PSG, I could leave for a certain amount at the end of the season.
‘To be honest, it’s not in my head to leave. I’m settled here, I feel good here. You can also see that on the field I think.
‘I came here on a free transfer, so I have no obligations to anyone. I’m the one who has to make the choice.’
