Hold on to your sequins Harry Styles fans, but there are rumours floating around that the chart-topping star could be the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show performer.
Unsurprisingly, many are very much willing to run with this idea after reports started surfacing on social media.
An independent American football news reporter account on Twitter first shared the speculation on Wednesday.
‘There’s been a lot of chatter, that multiple-time Grammy award winner and former One Direction Star Harry Styles will be the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show Performer,’ the MLFootball account tweeted.
That tweet has now attracted a whopping 2.8million views since it was first posted, alongside thousands of likes and retweets.
The As It Was singer’s fierce fans were very excited to take the as yet unverified report and build on it.
‘Absolute home run. That halftime show would be goated,’ announced one, while another joked: ‘If true, I’m about to 80 for Brady my way into the Super Bowl.’
‘The thought of a $10,000 Super Bowl ticket just to watch harry styles poss perform at half time is tempting until you factor in everything else,’ mused someone else.
‘Please give me tickets. I love football as much as I love Harry Styles… that’s a lot of love,’ begged another social media user.
Others were ready to defend Styles from backlash too.
‘Harries we’re gonna be in the TRENCHES for weeks but he will deliver the best super bowl performance of all time TRUST,’ assured one devoted fan.
The singer’s name has been flying around social media after unconfirmed reports
Next year’s event, Super Bowl LVII, is set to take place in Nevada for the first time, at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday February 11.
Last year’s Super Bowl was of course dominated by Rihanna who unveiled her second pregnancy while delivering a show-stopping set including hits Rude Boy, All of the Lights, Umbrella and Diamonds.
With 121.017million viewers, hers officially became the most watched Super Bowl performance of all time, taking the crown by a hair from Katy Perry’s 2015 show which had an even 121million viewers.

Styles recently broke the record for the highest-selling stadium show in Scotland ever when he took to the stage at Edinburgh’s BT Murrayfield Stadium in May.
According to Murrayfield’s owner, Scottish Rugby Union, a whopping 65,000 people attended Saturday’s show.
