A woman accused of posing as a man to dupe a teenage girl into having sex told her mum she was ‘genuinely not a lesbian’ and ‘actually didn’t like girls’, a court has heard.

Georgia Bilham, 21, allegedly pretended to be ‘George Parry’ by dressing in men’s clothing, keeping a hood up, and removing her alleged victim’s glasses whenever they were together.

She messaged her mum after the ruse had been uncovered saying: ‘I made a stupid mistake and was stupid years ago and made that account. I didn’t think nothing of it.’

Jurors at Chester Crown Court heard she told her mother she and the complainant had just ‘clicked’ after they started talking.

She went on: ‘I know I should have cut it off but, like, if I didn’t feel the way I did it would have been a million times more easier. I would have just stopped without thinking about it.’

Bilham added: ‘I’m not a lesbian, like I’m genuinely not, if that hadn’t have happened I would never go near a girl. I wouldn’t have had the boxers, none of it.’

The court has heard the alleged victim said she believed she had felt a penis through Bilham’s clothing on two occasions when they were together.

In the message to her mother, Bilham said: ‘The boxers and socks, you already know the truth behind that.’

She said, ‘I know this happened more than once, but I actually don’t like girls’, before adding: ‘Maybe I do need help.’

Earlier on Thursday, the jury heard from another woman who had been speaking to ‘George’ online.

Nikita Hughes, 22, told the court she had the number stored in her phone as ‘Brummy George’.

She said: ‘They used to have like a bit of a Birmingham accent, like a male Birmingham accent.’

Ms Hughes said he would send her photos, which she believed were of him, and they spoke ‘all the time’, including on FaceTime.

In May 2021, they met when he drove to see her in North Wales, she said.

She told the court: ‘He was wearing his hood up the whole time, and I just thought he must be shy, don’t know, it was weird.’

She said at one point she caught a glimpse of his face, but he pushed her away.

In a statement, she said in the short time she was with him ‘the way he behaved was strange’ and so she decided not to see him again.

Bilham, of Alpraham, Cheshire, denies nine sexual assaults and eight counts of assault by penetration in relation to the unnamed teen.

The trial will continue on Monday.
