Caleb Milligan (William Ash) had his smug smile wiped from his face in Thursday’s (June 8) edition of Emmerdale as the truth about his connection to Frank Tate and Kim’s (Claire King) revenge plan was revealed.
For a one-hour episode, there was a lot to cover in Caleb’s storyline, let alone the developments elsewhere with the likes of Mandy (Lisa Riley) and Paddy (Dominic Brunt) and Charles (Kevin Mathurin) meeting his dad Victor (Eddie Osei).
So, if you’re scratching your head over Caleb knowing how Frank died or you need a hand to understand how Kim worked out what Caleb was up to then sit down, we’ve got it all covered.
How did Caleb know that Kim watched Frank die?

That’s been a question whirring around our minds ever since Caleb’s connection to the iconic character was revealed.
It turns out Caleb got in contact with Kim’s ex-husband Graham Foster back in the day, who had a few too many secrets to tell.
Once he had got the alcoholic drunk, Caleb was enjoying every single moment of Graham telling him about Kim’s life, including watching Frank die, and even spilt the tea on Cain (Jeff Hordley) being convinced that he had killed Joe Tate after punching him.
Nicky is now on his own
Will we see Nicky again? (Picture: ITV)
After telling Gabby (Rosie Bentham) everything, Nicky (Lewis Cope) was brutally beaten by Caleb, who then told his son to start running as once the police get involved, he’s going to frame him for everything.
As Nicky headed out of the village, Gabby was in the kitchen at Home Farm, telling the likes of Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) and Bernice (Samantha Giles) what had happened.
She then heard Nicky’s phone go. It was Ally (Joshua Horrocks).
It was this conversation that allowed Ally to learn his boyfriend’s secret. He found Nicky on the side of a road and told him there was no way they’d be getting back together. He’s on his own now, a life Ally thinks he deserves.
But what’s next for him?
Are we going to see Nicky again?
Kim explains her revenge plan
We established last night that Kim had known about Caleb’s plan for ages, but it was in tonight’s episode where she explained the lengths she went to as she listened to that niggling voice of doubt in her mind.
Kim had caught Caleb out by deliberately putting errors on plans that he never spotted, hid her money away in an account that he couldn’t access, enlisted the help of Cain and Will (Dean Andrews) and even tricked Caleb by creating a businessman called Seth Armstrong…when the actual Seth Armstrong died back in the early 2000s.
Actually, let’s get into that.
Who was Seth Armstrong?
Seth hasn’t been seen since the early 2000s (Picture: ITV)
Caleb fell hook, line and sinker when Kim spun a lie about Seth. He believed that he was part of their stud farm project but actually, he used to work as a gatekeeper at Home Farm and died in 2005. He was on a plane home from Australia, with his friends and family later discovering that Seth knew he was unwell and wanted to return home before his death.
Will attacks Adrian
Adrian was a name Caleb mentioned a few times recently. He told Kim that he was an architect but actually, he was working alongside him in the plan to bring down Home Farm.
This was quickly established by Kim this week, so she enlisted Will’s help to get rid of him.
In Tuesday’s (June 6) episode of the ITV soap, you would’ve seen a moment where Will left Home Farm to put some petrol in the wedding car.
Moment prior to this, Kim had given Adrian a phone number, claiming it was a really good contact of hers.
And who owned that number?
Will, of course.
While Caleb divulged the details of his plot, he was interrupted by Will who had spent a great deal of time beating Adrian, leaving him barely able to walk with blood pouring down his face.
The flashbacks
The flashbacks to the episode where Frank died were a nice little touch but ultimately, the flashbacks from this week’s episodes made tonight’s instalment even more exciting.
We had spent Tuesday suspicious of Kim, wondering whether she knew about Caleb or not, and the flashbacks confirmed exactly what she had been up to as she put the final touches to her big reveal in place.
We saw the moment Will followed Adrian outside before his attack, the moment she chatted to Cain and handed him a screw that Caleb had stolen while he sabotaged the machinery on Moira’s (Natalie J Robb) farm, something he had in his pocket in Wednesday’s episode, when Caleb told Cain about Kim wanting Holly’s field in her deal.
It would’ve been tricky to spot all of these scenes the first time round, and some we didn’t see at all, but go back and replay the episodes watching with the mindset of Kim knowing everything, and all the little clues will fall into place.
Moira getting her farm back and Cain blaming himself
Moira thought her time at Butlers had come to an end (Picture: ITV)
It’s hard to believe that Cain can show an actual emotion but sometimes, he does surprise us. After Caleb left Home Farm, he headed back to Butlers to tell Moira everything.
She was overjoyed to learn that the deal wasn’t going through, but joined Cain in his shock once she learnt about Caleb and Nicky being his son.
Cain explained to Moira that he actually wanted Caleb around after Faith’s (Sally Dexter) death, but couldn’t help blaming himself, certain that if he spotted something suspicious, he could’ve put a stop to it.
So, where does this leave us?
Caleb hasn’t completely left the village just yet, as next week’s episodes will see him attacked by a villager who wants revenge.
We have our suspects, but who will reach breaking point?
