Lynn Kennedy has confirmed that she’s now left her role as Karen Rutherford in Coronation Street.
The actress made her arrival in March of this year. She entered the pub to warn Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) about her brother Justin’s (Andrew Still) behaviour, explaining that he’s shown the same concerning signs before, but things could get a lot darker.
A few weeks later, Justin returned to the pub after being arrested with the intention of attacking Daisy with acid, but ended up making Ryan (Ryan Prescott) the victim when he jumped in front of her.

Most recently, Ryan and Daisy have endured the trial surrounding the attack and stalking, meaning they had to relieve their experiences and face Justin again.
Initially, Ryan was prepared to stand up in court, knowing he’d also be helping Daisy, but an interaction with Karen nearly jeopardised the entire thing.

Karen found Ryan on the cobbles and said that she had told Justin’s lawyer about Daisy’s history of being manipulative. She explained how much she wanted to try and help Justin, but all that did was leave Ryan convinced that he’d walk free.
Fortunately, Justin was found guilty, with the Judge announcing that his sentencing would be delivered at a later date.
Now this part of the storyline is over, Lynn Kennedy has confirmed we won’t be seeing Karen again.
Sharing a picture in her dressing room on social media, she wrote alongside: ‘And just like that, Karen’s off. Bye @coronationstreet it’s been amazing!’.

Karen’s name was mentioned again in Wednesday’s (June 7) edition of the ITV soap, when Ryan told Daisy that someone had been catfishing him and pretending to be Crystal.
Right now, Ryan remains unaware that Daisy was actually behind it all but in order to cover herself, she told her friend that Karen was responsible and did it to gather information to try and help brother.
