Manchester City have won the FA Cup with a 2-1 victory over Manchester United at Wembley.
The triumph under the famous arch is the club’s second trophy of the season following on from the Premier League crown they regained in May at the expense of season-long challengers Arsenal.
And Pep Guardiola’s men will be heading back to Wembley for the Community Shield at the start of next season.
But given City have won both the Premier League and the FA Cup this campaign, who exactly will be joining them in the traditional curtain raiser?

Who will Manchester City play in the Community Shield?

In the event that the same club wins both the Premier League and the FA Cup, the team who finished second in the league will qualify for the Community Shield.
Mikel Arteta’s side finished five points behind City in the league and they lost all three games between the two clubs this season.
When is the Community Shield 2023?
An exact date for the Community Shield 2023 has not yet been confirmed by The FA.
However, it is likely that the game will take place on the weekend of August 5/6.
The new Premier League season will start on August 12.
How many times have Manchester City and Arsenal won the Community Shield?
Manchester City have won the Community Shield six times in their history.
Their last victory came against Liverpool on penalties in 2019 following a 1-1 draw after normal time.
Arsenal have won the one-off game 16 times – a record only bettered by Manchester United (21) and equalled by Liverpool.
The Gunners’ last triumph arrived back in 2020 courtesy of a penalty shootout victory over Liverpool following a 1-1 draw.
Who won the Community Shield last year?
Liverpool are the reigning champions heaving beaten Manchester City at the King Power Stadium in 2022.
Goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez secured the 3-1 win for the Reds.
