Elon Musk’s ex-girlfriend Grimes has surprised even her most devoted fans after sharing a photo of a new full-length and detailed leg tattoo.
The singer and musician, 35, took to Instagram to give her 2.4million followers a glimpse at the prominent new ink, which runs from her right thigh to her ankle.
Inspired by futuristic sci-fi imagery, the design resembles the red creeper weeds from various adaptations and retellings of War of the Worlds.
And it wasn’t the only tattoo Grimes got this week, as she thanked another tattoo artist just five hours later after getting a similar tattoo on her ear.
On her Instagram stories, she captioned the pictures, ‘Very very nice – will get a better photo when I’m free,’ and ‘Gonna get better pics but thank you!’
In the second photo shared with followers, Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, revealed that her next step is to get an ink design on her face.

However, the impressive and intricate design didn’t do enough to impress some fans, with one remarking that it won’t look so great once it fades.
‘Once they start to fade they will have that fabulous looking varicose vein look everyone desires,’ one user commented on social media.
In response, several of her fans have expressed their excitement about the tattoo and have showered both Grimes and her tattoo artist with praise.

‘This is the s**t! Like, it’s so f*****g good! This is what I expect from her and even more, she is so good,’ another Twitter user posted in Grimes’ defence.
There’s been no word yet on what her ex-partner Elon Musk makes of the tattoo, although there’s also been no word on whether he’s even aware.
The couple, who dated and lived together between 2018 and 2021, had two children before splitting up, with both children receiving controversial names.
At the time, it was reported that the name of their first child, X Æ A-12 (pronounced Ex Ash A Twelve) violated baby naming laws in California.
The baby’s name was subsequently changed to X Æ A-Xii, with the Æ A-Xii portion being his middle name, before they had a daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl, whose nickname is Y.
