Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers has returned to work after his cancer battle, and has revealed the one diet change that has been helping him.
Last year Dave, 65, broke the news he was being treated for cancer, joking he would be a ‘baldy biker’ for a while.
In subsequent updates, he claimed to be ‘kind of doing alright’, although treatment was still ‘ongoing’, and he welcomed in 2023 by saying cancer was ‘something one learns to live with’.
Just months after detailing his ‘brutal’ chemotherapy treatment, where he revealed he’d lost ‘so much weight’ and struggled with losing his appetite, the star is now back at work… thanks to sauerkraut.
His new diet, filled with the fermented cabbage and other gut-friendly meals, has been helping him recover.
‘It’s unbelievable to be back. Every breath I take now is just refreshing and fabulous. It varies really what food I’ve been having,’ he said.

Dave continued to The Mirror: ‘At some stage I need to put weight on but I need things to boost my immune system.
‘So I’ve been eating a lot of sauerkraut. It really works for me – sauerkraut, kimchi and meatballs.
‘I live by it. It’s a probiotic and good for the immune system and keeps you regular. I love it. It’s the healthy eating that does it.’
Dave added that the beloved duo are back to filming a new TV series, saying ‘it is a huge step back to normality’.
‘It’s a work in progress and it’s all going the right way. I’m getting there and I’m back on the bike,’ he shared.

Earlier this year, Dave spoke about his ‘brutal’ chemotherapy treatment, saying: : ‘It’s funny, when you first start chemotherapy… it’s quite hard. I’m still having it. It really was brutal.’
Speaking on Tommy Banks’ Seasoned podcast, Dave went on: ‘I lost so much weight and then it’s a battle to get your calories in.
‘At first I thought, “Right, this is great, I can eat all those pies I haven’t been eating for years”, except [my] appetite was dreadful!’
He added: ‘For me, a glutton, losing my appetite was awful. A can of soup was about as far as I could go.
