Robert De Niro has confirmed that he has recently become a dad of seven at the age of 79.

The Oscar-winning actor dropped the casual news in an interview while promoting his new film, About My Father.

De Niro was talking about fatherhood with a journalist, where he explained that he believes ‘in being loving with [his] kids’, despite sometimes having ‘to be stern about stuff’.

The interviewer for ET Canada then noted De Niro had six kids, with the star replying: ‘Seven actually.’

‘I just had a baby,’ he added.

No details on his newest child were revealed, including the identity of their mother.
