Ant and Dec fans have theory giggling presenters are pulling a prank during King’s coronation: ‘They’re like naughty schoolboys’

Ant and Dec looked like they were having a whale of a time at King Charles’ coronation at Westminster Abbey but fans believe they had an ulterior motive.

The I’m A Celebrity presenters, both 47, were among the stars, including the likes of Emma Thompson, invited to the historic celebration on Saturday.

But as King formally ascended to the thrown, the Geordie duo were trying desperately hard to burst into fits of giggles.

Ant was seen grimacing as he fought back erupting into laughter while Dec smirked during the BBC’s coverage.

Naturally, the Saturday Night Takeaway host’s cheeky behaviour sent the internet into meltdown, with one Twitter user comparing them to ‘naughty school boys.’

Another comment they ‘couldn’t stop watching’ the pair, while a third ponded if they were ‘stifling a yawn.

But many have shared a theory that Ant and Dec were actually pulling a Get Out My Ear prank.

For the uninitiated, the prank is a long-running and beloved segment on their ITV show Saturday Night Takeaway.

It sees celebrities kitted out with secret earpieces and agreeing to follow Ant and Dec’s instructions – whatever they might be – with hilarious results.

Who knows what the boys were really up to? But if it was Get Out My Ear we’re hoping their antics will be coming to Saturday Night Takeaway very soon.

The pair had earlier shared the ‘surreal’ night they spent in the bedroom next to King Charles at his Scottish residence, Dumfries House.

Ant and Dec had been invited to stay with the King following their work with the Prince’s Trust.

After deciding to exit the bedroom and have a wander, Ant revealed he bumped into King Charles – who was clutching a pair of secateurs.
