Alex Scott kept her cards close to her chest while being quizzed about a rumoured romantic fling with a member of One Direction.
The TV presenter and former England footballer, 38, was a special guest on Friday night’s The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan, alongside Harry Hill.
Alex, who revealed she had ‘personal reasons’ for supporting her colleague Gary Lineker during his stand-off with the BBC, was put under the spotlight by Mo.
The host of the Channel 4 late-night talk show gave no warning before launching into his questions which had the audience cheering and Alex blushing.
He leaned towards Alex and asked: ‘What about you, Alex? Because I’ve heard you’ve been chatted up by one of the One Direction members. Is this true?’
Alex immediately blushed and stared down at the floor while the audience cheered as a photograph of One Direction was shown to them.

Trying to defend herself and deflect, she joked: ‘What band? What? I do like a bit of Watermelon Sugar, a bit of Pillow Talk, a bit of Slow Hands.’
But Mo wasn’t having it, going one step further in his quest to find out the truth from the BBC football pundit: ‘It was Harry! Was it Harry?’
However, Alex insisted again that she wasn’t going to give an answer, trying to move the conversation on by responding: ‘Dunno. I’m not gonna say.’

In response, Mo kept quizzing her while the audience egged him on: ‘Harry’s got those white boy hips, y’know. Wearing the platform shoes.’
At this point in the exchange, Alex opened up a little bit and did admit to those watching that ‘Harry’s got it going on a little bit’.
Mo didn’t limit his line of questioning to the As It Was singer either, branching out to ask about other members of the What Makes You Beautiful group.
‘What about Niall Horan?,’ he asked.

‘Come on, we’re not getting any juice out of you, is there anything?’, but Alex shut him down again and revealed nothing.
Alex revealed in her memoir How (Not) to Be Strong that she is open to dating both men and women and had a relationship with a former teammate.
