A British tourist is fighting for his life after being punched just once in a Tenerife party strip.
The unnamed man is said to have been knocked unconscious by a blow to the head and suffered a skull fracture and internal bleeding in Playa de las Americas on Sunday morning.
Unconfirmed local reports said the victim got into an altercation with three other Brits following a heavy drinking session.
One threw a single punch at the victim, knocking him to the ground.
The three men have been arrested.
The victim, said to be around 30-years-old, was taken to Our Lady of Candelaria University Hospital in the island capital Santa Cruz.
He remained in an intensive care unit at the hospital yesterday.
The assault happened on a main road by Las Veronicas commercial centres, known as Veronicas Strip, where there are bars, clubs and restaurants.

Veronicas Strip is described in travel reviews as the ‘ultimate destination for partygoers’ in Playa de las Americas.
Although it is not uncommon for people to report incidents of theft, drugs and overcharging.
One English-language online travel site warns: ‘If you do decide to check out Playa de las Americas at night, it’s important to be aware of your surroundings and not get too drunk, as you would in any city centre on a Friday or Saturday night.
‘Stick together with a group and don’t engage with unsolicited offers from street vendors.’
