A woman has been stabbed to death in broad daylight on a street in Lambeth, South London.
Emergency services were called to the scene, on Stockwell Park Walk near the O2 Brixton Academy, just after 4pm today.
Paramedics attempted to save the woman, who is believed to be in her thirties, but she died at the scene.
She has not been named, but police said her family have been informed and will be supported by officers.
The Met said an urgent investigation has been launched into the incident.
A statement said: ‘Police were called at around 16:04hrs on Monday May 1 to reports of a stabbing in Stockwell Park Walk, SW9.
‘Officers, paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended.

‘A woman, believed to be aged in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman’s family have been informed; they will be supported by specialist officers.
‘A number of roads have been closed as officers work at the scene.’
