Sophie Turner acknowledges ‘honest mistake’ after accidentally posting video of daughter online

Sophie Turner has urged anyone who has reposted a video of her daughter to delete it after she ‘accidentally’ shared a clip of her child online.

The 27-year-old, who rose to prominence by playing Sansa Stark in the epic fantasy TV series Game of Thrones, shares two children with her husband, singer Joe Jonas.

Following their swanky Las Vegas wedding in 2019, the couple have since welcomed two daughters, born in July 2020 and July 2022.

In a statement posted on her Instagram Story, Sophie revealed that she had posted a video of her daughter in error.

‘Earlier today I made an honest mistake accidentally posting a video of our daughter on instagram stories,’ she said.

‘We have always advocated for our kids’ rights to privacy so sharing this publicly is something that is against anything I stand for.’

The actress continued: ‘Our children deserve the right to grow up out of the public eye, to learn and grow in private. If I ever were to post anything of our kids, know that it is unquestionably a mistake.

‘I would greatly appreciate if anyone who has reposted on any other platform, please delete the video.’

In May last year, Sophie opened up about expecting her second child with Joe, 33.

‘It’s what life is about for me – raising the next generation. The greatest thing in life is seeing my daughter go from strength to strength. We’re so excited to be expanding the family. It’s the best blessing ever,’ she told Elle UK.

Sophie added that she doesn’t believe that she and Joe would let their older daughter Willa do anything ‘professionally’ until she’s 18 years old, should she wish to follow in their footsteps.

‘My daughter never asked for any of this. I know what it can do to your mental health to be in this industry, and to be photographed every day and have the comments. It’s not something I want her to deal with unless she says, “This is what I want to do,”’ she stated at the time.

‘We’re quite strict about that. We’ll encourage her to do whatever she wants but I don’t think we would professionally let her do anything until she’s 18. I also feel quite strongly about my daughter not becoming a nepotism child.’
