Richard Madeley has revealed he and his wife Judy Finnigan are visited at the same time every night by a pesky mouse.

The veteran TV presenter, 66, also said that their pest problem has forced Judy, 74, to sleep in the spare room.

Speaking on Monday’s Good Morning Britain, Richard thanked viewers for their tips on how to get rid of the mouse but noted nothing’s worked so far.

He said at the beginning of the week: ‘Can I just thank everybody ringing in with tips on how to get rid of the mice we’ve got in our house.’

The star added: ‘I was saying earlier that Judy is now sleeping in the spare room because we’ve got this mouse in the bedroom now and it comes out from under the bed at about 11 o’clock every night on the dot.’

Richard added: ‘I’ve set traps, I’ve got poison boxes,’ to which his co-host Charlotte Hawkins replied, ‘A lot of people are saying peanut butter.’

Charlotte, 47, then pointed out that Speaker of the House of Commons Lindsay Hoyle recently brought his pet cat Attlee to work to make sure Parliament remains mice-free, prompting Richard to joke: ‘Mr Speaker, can I borrow Attlee for the day?’

Lindsay said he’s keen to make sure the grounds are free of mice before Tuesday’s royal reception, explaining: ‘Attlee’s been going around to check there weren’t any mice around, there were absolutely none.’

Richard and Judy share a stunning north London home in the Hampstead Heath area and it’s no wonder the dad-of-two is concerned about having the critters in his home, as not only are they known for causing property damage, but they can also spread disease, not to mention carry other pests in their fur like fleas.
