The Royal has stunned in formalwear, favouring tailored frock coats and dramatic gowns, but also knows how to keep it casual in country attire as the situation requires.
This laidback side to Princess Catherine’s style is clear to see in a newly-released photo, posted to her and Prince William’s official Instagram to celebrate the couple’s 12th anniversary.
Posing on bikes, the pair are all smiles, both donning relaxed shirts and jeans in the lush British countryside.
The picture was taken by environmental photographer Matt Porteous, who perfectly captured the Wales’ relationship in a behind-the-scenes peek.
Kate’s outfit in particular was a lesson in off-duty dressing – and it’s a look we’ve seen before too.
The Princess of Wales sports a broderie anglaise blouse and simple denim skinny jeans in the snap, just like in the family’s Christmas card for 2022.
Priced at £225 from M.I.H. Jeans, the Mabel Shirt also made an appearance back in May 2019, on a visit to the Back to Nature Garden, and on a Zoom call for Volunteers Week in 2020 – so it’s clearly got Kate’s seal of approval.
Although it’s since sold out, similar versions are available if you want to recreate the look. The high street is packed with broderie and scalloped tops for spring, and puff sleeves, which add an on-trend touch to a piece, are everywhere right now.

Kate paired the blouse with indigo skinny jeans, proving that slim denims aren’t resigned to the trend scrapheap.
It’s all about finding what works for your shape and the overall outfit. Skinny jeans are a great way to offset a voluminous top half, for example, or to accentuate your legs and bum.
The deep blue shade worn by the mother-of-three also complements the white shirt, with a pair of Superga trainers to finish off the look.

Princess Catherine has long been a fan of this sneaker brand, joining celebs including Emily Ratajkowski, Ariana Grande, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas who’ve been spotted in Superga.
While nude heeled pumps have become a signature style for Kate, it appears she prefers something more comfortable while off-duty. And at less than £60 a pair, this is a versatile footwear choice that doesn’t require a royal budget.
