When you hear about skincare products loved by the rich and famous, they usually come with a hefty price tag.
Not Weleda Skin Food. This hugely popular moisturiser usually costs a very reasonable £14.95, but a bunch of Weleda products are on sale on Amazon right now, with the OG Skin Food a budget- friendly £8.32.
It’s not the first time we’ve written about this ultra-moisturiser, which is an ultra-nourishing and hydrating treatment that can be used on the whole body, from your face to your feet, and is particularly great for people with dry skin in need of some extra TLC.
According to numerous makeup artists, who’ve been using it for years, it’s also a great base for makeup and helps give you a wet, dewy look.
Among Skin Food’s many celebrity fans are Victoria Beckham, Adele, Hailey Bieber, Julia Roberts, Ashley Graham, Priyanka Chopra, Heather Graham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Quite the stellar list!
In 2019 Victoria Beckham revealed on an Instagram post that she uses it to prolong her tan.

She added: ‘It keeps your skin so hydrated and moisturised. It’s really, really thick and I love how it feels all over the body. It’s a really great product.’
Julia Roberts also sang the moisturiser’s praises, telling InStyle: ‘I put it on my hands after I wash the dishes, and wind up putting it on my elbows and feet. Before you know it, I’ve squeezed this poor little green tube into a twist.’
Model Ashley Graham, meanwhile, told Into the Gloss, that the cream ‘is like crack’.
The moisturiser also has lots of glowing reviews from happy shoppers.
One wrote on Amazon: ‘Having eczema I had tried every moisturiser to help with it especially on my face but wow my skin has been the best it’s ever been! It doesn’t sting your skin and leaves it moisturised for hours!’
So what makes it so effective? Here we take a closer look at some of the product’s hard-working, key ingredients.
Pansy extract
Known for its soothing and healing properties, including its long-traditional use for rough, cracked skin.
Candula
Helps reduce sensitivity and soothe irritation, while also protecting the skin from oxidative stress
Rosemary leaf extract
Used in many Weleda products, rosemary leaf extract is known for its revitalising, stimulating and warming action that can improve circulation.
Chamomile extract
Gentle and soothing, chamomile extract is ideal for delicate or sensitive skin. It’s often used in combination with calendula for gentle skin care.
