London buses are getting a glam new makeover for the King’s coronation.

Five of the red icons will be decorated in commemorative wraps, and are hitting the roads for the first time today.

They will be taking in famous royal locations, including Horse Guards Parade, Westminster Abbey and Hyde Park. 

But the buses are not the only mode of transport getting the royal treatment, as vehicles across the transport network are getting spruced up.

Twenty Santander bikes wrapped in three different colours will be available at docks across the city.

Miniature crowns and posters paying tribute to the late Queen’s coronation will also be dotted around London to mark the historic occasion.

Special travel advice leaflets, again recreating the 1953 coronation, will be handed out to any lost tourists trying to find their way to the King.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said: ‘I’m incredibly excited that the eyes of the world are on London once again as Their Majesties are crowned, showing our capital city in all of its glory.

‘These celebratory “Crowndels” and decorations will get Londoners and visitors into the spirit of this historic event as they come together to celebrate the Coronation.’

If none of this tickles your fancy, tourists can book a horse and carriage on Uber.

The ‘Coronation Carriage’ will be in operation in Dulwich Park, London, and allows you to take a ride in a horse-drawn carriage.
