Sharon Stone has made her feelings known over Kim Kardashian’s upcoming stint on American Horror Story.

At the beginning of the month, the Skims founder surprised us all when she confirmed that she would be joining the fray for season 12 alongside Emma Roberts.

Although there are no further details on the 42-year-old’s role, some famous faces have taken aim at the casting, with Patti LuPone slamming the decision.

Sharon added her voice to the mix on Instagram, explaining that trained actors had ‘studied’ the craft and ‘suffered’ for it.

Responding below an Access Hollywood post about Patti’s comments, the Basic Instinct star penned: ‘Well… you know… acting.  It may not be brain surgery but we do treasure our art.

‘We studied, we suffered, we do suffer for it. Ten thousand hours; it’s a thing.’

The last part of her comment appeared to refer to Malcolm Gladwell, who suggested that with 10,000 hours of guided practice at anything, a person could become a professional.

American Horror Story will return this summer, with creator Ryan Murphy previously discussing what to expect from the upcoming episodes.

‘It’s one of the biggest shows,’ he said. ‘Sometimes we have big writers rooms. This year, one person is pretty much writing all of them.’

Kim revealed that she would be popping up on our screens on Twitter, sharing a very brief teaser.

‘Emma Roberts and Kim Kardashian are delicate’, a message read as a creepy lullaby played in the background.

The news didn’t go down well with Patti, who vocally opposed the casting during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live.

Host Andy Cohen asked the singer – who played Joan Ramsey in four episodes of the thriller – if she cared about the Kardashian star’s role.

‘Yes! I do!’ she replied, to which he teased: ‘You don’t like it, do you?’

    ‘No I don’t!’ Patti replied.
